AspectTake

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AspectTake (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), published by Nixmio, handles information when you use the App on your iOS device and when you visit our marketing website at aspecttake.nixmio.com. By installing or using the App, or by using the website, you agree to the practices described below.

This website (aspecttake.nixmio.com)

The AspectTake marketing website does not collect your recordings or any in-app data. It may use essential cookies and, only if you consent, analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use the site. The iOS App itself does not use analytics or advertising trackers, as described in the sections below.

Cookies and similar technologies

When you visit aspecttake.nixmio.com, we use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage for non-essential preferences on some pages) as described below. Essential cookies are required for the site to function; analytics cookies are optional and only used if you consent.

Essential cookies

These include cookies that keep you signed in to administrative areas (if applicable), protect forms with CSRF tokens, and remember your cookie consent choice. We do not use essential cookies for advertising.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregated information about how visitors use our website — for example which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns. Google may process this data as our service provider. We do not use GA4 for advertising or cross-site profiling on these sites.

GA4 may set cookies such as _ga and related identifiers. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Google's privacy information is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Your choices

On your first visit, you can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage preferences. Your choice is stored in a cookie shared across nixmio.com and its subdomains (remidue, fotom, aspecttake, and appcharts) so you are not asked again on each site. You can change your mind at any time using in the site footer.

If you reject analytics cookies, we do not load Google Analytics on your browser. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data — contact us using the details below.

Retention

Your consent preference is kept for up to 365 days unless you clear cookies sooner. Analytics data retention in Google Analytics follows our GA4 property settings (typically limited retention periods configured in Google Analytics).

1. Summary (the iOS App)

AspectTake is a camera app that runs entirely on your device. We do not operate any backend servers, we do not require an account, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your recordings or any personal information. The only third-party data exchange happens with Apple when you buy the App and when the App verifies that purchase, as described in Section 5.

2. Information we do not collect (the iOS App)

We do not collect or have access to:

  • Your videos, audio, or anything visible in your camera preview. Recording happens entirely on your device.
  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials. AspectTake does not have user accounts.
  • The contents of your photo library. The App uses Apple's add-only Photos permission, which allows saving finished videos but does not allow reading, browsing, or viewing the photos and videos already in your library.
  • Your contacts, location, calendar, or any other system data.
  • Analytics events, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints.

3. Camera, microphone, and Photos permissions

The App requests three permissions, all granted or denied by you through iOS:

  • Camera — to show the live preview and record your portrait and landscape videos.
  • Microphone — to record synchronized audio for both files.
  • Photos (add only) — to save your finished videos to your Photo Library. This permission cannot be used to read your existing library.

Camera and microphone data is used only to produce the two video files of your recording. It is never sent to us or to any third party by the App.

4. Information stored on your device

The App stores the following on your device only:

  • Temporary recording files while a recording is being made and transferred to your Photo Library. After both videos are successfully saved to Photos, these temporary files are deleted. If saving fails (for example due to a permission change), the files are kept inside the App so you can retry, and stale unfinished files are cleared automatically after seven days.
  • App preferences (selected resolution, frame rate, codec, and grid setting), stored in local app storage.

The App's temporary recording folder is excluded from device backups. Videos you save to your Photo Library are managed by Apple's Photos app and are covered by your own iCloud and backup settings, not by this policy. Deleting the App removes everything the App stores locally.

5. App purchase (Apple)

AspectTake is a one-time paid app sold through the Apple App Store. Apple receives your payment, your Apple Account details, and the transaction record; Apple's handling of this information is governed by Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

The App uses Apple's StoreKit framework to verify, on your device, that a valid App Store purchase exists. This verification happens between your device and Apple. We do not receive your name, email address, payment method, or any other identifying information — we do not operate any server that could receive it.

6. Children's privacy

AspectTake is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly process personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, no special collection practices apply.

7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / similar laws)

Because we do not collect or store personal information about you, the typical rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing have no data for us to act on. For information held by Apple in connection with your purchase, please contact Apple directly using the privacy contact details in Apple's policy linked above.

You may delete the App's local data at any time by deleting the App from your device. Videos already saved to your Photo Library remain there until you delete them yourself.

8. Security

Recording files and preferences are stored on your device and protected by the same operating-system safeguards Apple provides for app data, including device-level encryption when your device is locked with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. We cannot guarantee absolute security and no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

AspectTake is a recording tool. You are solely responsible for what you record, for obtaining any consent required from people you record, and for complying with the recording and privacy laws that apply where you use the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all liability for any loss or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with your use of AspectTake, including without limitation:

  • lost, corrupted, or incomplete recordings, whether caused by interruptions, low storage, device conditions, or any other reason;
  • any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages;
  • loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.

You acknowledge that AspectTake is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranty of any kind, and that you use it at your own risk.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App, in third-party services we rely on, or in applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this document indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be surfaced in the App or on this page. You are responsible for reviewing this policy periodically; continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
